Earlier this year, UVM Medical Alumni Association President and Associate Professor of Medicine Mark Pasanen, M.D.’92 addressed his fellow alumni on the real and positive effect of financial support of the College of Medicine’s efforts:

“I’ve often wondered, just how much of a difference does my response make at UVM?  I am glad to now share with you just some of the very clear evidence that our support is having a real impact,” he wrote.  “Each year over one third of all students receive significant scholarship, and over half of all students receive some kind of financial aid, in great part because of the collective gifts we send each year as alumni.  In addition, the admissions team confirms that the availability of this financial aid has a significant impact on their ability to be competitive in recruiting the very best applicants year after year.  They would enthusiastically welcome more aid to offer!

“In addition to financial aid, our funds support wellness resources for students (both physical and mental health resources) as well as funds for student research initiatives and community service involvement.  All of these things help make the UVM experience what it is—and our support is what makes this tradition possible.”

There are many ways to support today’s students at the College of Medicine. To make your gift today, go to: www.uvm.edu/medicine/alumni and click on the “Give Now” button, or call 802-656-4014. For tax year-end purposes, all gifts must be received by December 31st.
