What's the connection among environmentalism, sustainability and democracy?

That question will be addressed at the fall 2012 College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Lecture, delivered by Robert V. Bartlett, Gund Professor of Liberal Arts in the Department of Political Science. His lecture, "Sustainable Environment, Sustainable Democracy, Sustainable Politics," will take place Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. in Memorial Lounge, Waterman Building.

Bartlett has twice been a Senior Fulbright Scholar, traveling to New Zealand and Ireland. In 2007, he was the Distinguished Fulbright Chair of Environmental Policies at the Turin Polytechnic Institute and University in Italy.  He teaches courses on environmental politics and policy and is the author and co-author of many books and research articles, including Global Democracy and Sustainable Jurisprudence: Deliberative Environmental Law, (MIT Press, 2009).
