Diane E. Meier, M.D., F.A.C.P., professor of geriatrics and internal medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, will give a talk, “Palliative Care: A Cure for Meaningless Suffering,” on Monday, March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Burlington. The event is free and open to the public.

Meier is director, Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute and director, Center to Advance Palliative Care. The talk is presented by the Madison-Deane Initiative of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties, Jane's Trust and the Vermont Palliative Care Collaboration.
