Message from President Daniel Mark Fogel About Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Efforts

As we all know, a disaster of unspeakable proportions is unfolding in Japan in the wake of the earthquake, tsunami, and multiple nuclear plant emergencies. As we have in times past (such as following Hurricane Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti), many members of the UVM community are asking what we can do. Associate Professor of East Asian History Erik Esselstrom, director of UVM's Asian Studies Program, is working with colleagues and students to organize fund-raising events for Japan. In the meantime, he has compiled information (below) on how members of the community can make donations to the relief effort.

I urge each of you to consider helping however you can. Thank you.
