| Biography: | Schenk has spent the last 30 years of his professional life in the theatre. He joined the UVM faculty in 1965 and has served the Department of Theatre in various capacities: scenery
designer, lighting designer, technical director, general manager of the Champlain Shakespeare Festival, and chair of the department.
Schenk maintains an active professional life outside the University as a freelance designer, stage manager, and production manager for theatre, television, and corporate clients including IBM, General Electric, Mobil Oil, Jog Bra, and Central Vermont Public Service Corporation. His also is a charter member of IATSE Local 919 (Stagehands' Union). Schenk holds a B.F.A. in Interior Design and an M.A. in Theatre both from Ohio State University.
