|Biography:||Lyman teaches film and video courses at UVM and devotes summers and sabbaticals to his own film work. His film "First Surface" was funded by Independent Television Surface, a branch of PBS. Subsequent films include "Testament of the Rabbit," which earned kudos and 10 awards from film festivals throughout the world; and "First Surface, the Story of a Twice Grown Boy," which won the Boston Camera Visual Innovation Award at the New England Film/Video Festival.
Lynan attended Harvard, where he majored in visual and environmental studies with a specialty in light and communications and pursued graduate studies at the University of California in San Diego. He has produced industrial, educational, commercial and art films. Lyman taught film and photography at Antioch College in Ohio before joining UVM in 1983.|
