Biography:Streeter studies media institutions, laws, and policies at the University of Vermont. He recently published, with Zephyr Teachout, Mousepads, Shoe Leather, and Hope: Lessons from the Dean Campaign for the Future of Internet Politics (Paradigm Publishers 2007). His Selling the Air: A Critique of the Policy of Commercial Broadcasting in the United States (Univ. of Chicago, 1996) won the McGannon Award for Social and Ethical Relevance in Communication Policy Research. Other publications include "The Moment of Wired," Critical Inquiry, 31, 2005; and "The Romantic Self and the Politics of Internet Commercialization," Cultural Studies, Vol. 17, no. 5, 2003. He has taught at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Southern California, and has been a member of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ.
