| Biography: | McGowan is an associate professor of English. He teaches courses in film theory, philosophy and film, and cultural theory. His areas of expertise include Hegel, Lacanian psychoanalytic theory, the films of David Lynch, the French New Wave, and existentialism. His most recent books are "The End of Dissatisfaction," "The Impossible David Lynch," and "The Real Gaze." McGowan's honors include UVM's Kroepsch-Maurice Award for Excellence in Teaching (2003). |
