Biography:Savitt has conducted research that encompasses marketing in transformation; international business and management studies, especially in Europe; knowledge management; customer service; and retail history. He recently studied knowledge management in complex environments at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge, where he is a visiting scholar. Savitt is the author and co-author and editor of 10 booksm more than 30 refereed journal articles and 50 presentations at academic meetings. His research has been supported by two Senior Fulbright Fellowships, a fellowship from the University of Pittsburgh Center for Russian and Central and Eastern Europe, grants from The William Davidson Institute of the University of Michigan Business School and The Kellogg Foundation. His is affiliated with the American Marketing Association, American Economics Association, and the Marketing History Workshop; serves on the editorial board and/or reviewer of several major international journals. Savitt has been active in international education programs including the Czech Management School, International Management Center in Budapest, Hungary,University of Edinburgh and Wirtschaftsuniversitat(Vienna).
