Biography:Dr. Gajda is the Director of the Secondary Education Program and an Assistant Professor in the College of Education and Social Services where she teaches curriculum, instruction, and assessment, as well as action research and other applied research courses. Dr. Gajda devotes much of her energy and intellect to high school renewal and reform initiatives in Vermont, including the recently launched TASS Program (Teaching All Secondary Students) and the High Schools on the Move Design Team. Her publications focus on the art and science of teaching, inter-organizational and inter-personal collaboration, and utilization-focused program evaluation. She has been the principal investigator for several large scale demonstration grants sponsored by the Departments of Education, Justice and Health and Human Services - including the Safe Schools/Healthy Student Initiative. Dr. Gajda is an active member of the American Evaluation Association (AEA), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum and Development (ASCD), and the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE). Previously, she was a secondary school social studies teacher and Dropout Prevention Coordinator in Northern Colorado.
