| Biography: | Shea received a Ph.D in Anthropology from Harvard University in 1998. Between 1986 and 2000, she spent three years in China studying Chinese language and culture. Her research interests include: cultural diversity, health, healing, gender, ethnicity, class, the lifecycle, aging, generational differences, and social change in China, the U.S., and Canada. Her current research projects emphasize: gender, aging, and sexuality in mainland China; and cultural identity, lifecyle issues, and health practices among Montreal Chinese. Shea is recipient of a 2001-2002 grant from Canadian Embassy Faculty Research Grant to research Montreal's Chinese residents. |
