Biography:Dr. Kolodinsky is Professor in and Chair of The Department of Community Development and Applied Economics and Co-Director of the Center for Rural Studies at the University of Vermont, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Burlington Vermont. She also directs the Food System Research Collaborative at UVM. She has served as President of the American Council on Consumer Interests and as an associate editor of the Journal of Consumer Affairs. She serves on the panel of reviewers for several applied journals spanning consumer economics, food systems, and community development. Dr. Kolodinsky teaches undergraduate and graduate level research methods and Applied Consumption Economics. She has almost 200 scholarly papers and presentations to her credit, and has garnered competitive grant funds totaling almost 2 million dollars from over 50 different sources. Some of her major areas of interest include public policy issues tied to the demand for information in the marketplace, and the economics of time use, obesity and food demand.
