Biography:Knodell is currently associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her teaching interests include Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, National Economic Policy,and American Economic History. She developed an Internship course with a focus on financial markets and institutions and co-developed a pilot assessment of learning in economics that received national attention. Her research interests include monetary theory and policy, community development, finance and economic history of America. Publications include: "The Demise of Central Banking and the Domestic Exchanges: Evidence from Antebellum Ohio" (The Journal of Economic History, 1998. Knodell has held several administrative positions at UVM and is actively involved in civic affairs as a member of the Burlington City Council.
