| Biography: | Fogel, a highly experienced administrator and professor of English, was UVM's 25th president. Fogel has extensive teaching credentials in English and American literature. The founding editor of the Henry James Review, he has written four books and edited three others, and has published dozens of articles and reviews on Henry James, James Joyce and Virginia Woolf. A published poet, Fogel earned a B.A. and M.F.A. in creative writing and completed doctoral studies in English at Cornell University. He also attended Harvard's Institute for Educational Management in 1995. Prior to joining UVM, he held several administrative and teaching positions at Louisiana State University. His last post at LSU was executive vice chancellor and provost, which he held from 1997-2000. |
