|Biography:||Harrington’s research interests are in the field of environmental economics with emphasis on strategic firm behavior in the context of green consumer preferences and regulatory threat, environmental technology adoption, and environmental information disclosure mechanisms. She is currently analyzing the effectiveness of various state level legislations and policy instruments to promote pollution prevention among manufacturing firms in the US. Through the Canadian Studies Research Grant, Harrington is also investigating whether firms behave strategically when they voluntarily participate and report to the Canadian Voluntary Climate and Challenge Registry.
She teaches Principles and Intermediate Microeconomics, Economics of Environmental Policy and Cost-Benefit Analysis. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
