Biography:Bentil has joint appointments in computer science, and molecular physiology and biophysics. He is an interdisciplinary applied mathematician. His research work lies in five distinct areas of mathematical biology, namely, (i) molecular muscle physiology, (ii) renal hemodynamics and hemodialysis, (iii) pattern formation in developmental biology, (iv) ecology of invasive species, and (v) behavioral pharmacology of drug addiction. Some of his work involves the construction of conceptual models, which incorporate available experimental and empirical knowledge, and suggest future measurements by which model mechanisms can be tested and refined.
