Biography:Dr. Rambur is a professor of nursing and dean of the University of Vermont's College of Nursing and Health Sciences. A leader in advocacy of the nurse's role in contemporary and future society, Rambur strives to support innovation and build committed communities of inquiry that transcend boundaries of disciplines, institutions, and nations. Rambur has served in numerous leadership positions, including service on the Board of Trustees of the University of Vermont-affiliated hospital and health system, Fletcher Allen Health Care. In 2007-2008 she was selected nationally as one of 38 American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows, a leadership development program preparing individuals for senior positions in university administration. As a Fellow, Dr. Rambur spent one academic year under the mentorship of the provost, chancellor, and other senior leaders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she participated in senior-level meetings and problem-solving, interactions with the State Higher Education System, and strategic planning and implementation. Her focus also included involvement with the regional accreditation process and transnational research partnerships. In 2007-2008, she was also selected as one of seven University of Wisconsin Fellows in the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC) Academic Leaders Program, a leadership development consortium of research-intensive Midwestern institutions.
