Biography:Woolfson is a professor emeritus of Canadian Studies and Anthropology. He studies sociolinquistics, nonverbal communication, and cross-cultural aging. He has done field work among the French in Quebec and New England, the Mohawk native peoples in New York, medical staff and patients in Montreal, and the probate court and nursing home ombudsman programs in Vermont. Woolfson received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
