Biography:Rosa, professor emeritus of English, has written or co-written texts including, "The Old Century and the New: Essays in Honor of Charles Angoff" and "Salem, Transcendentalism,and Hawthorne," "The Writer's Brief Handbook," and the "The Writer's Pocket Handbook." His published articles and lectures cover a range of subjects including, "The Novels of Mari Tomasi," "The Psycholinguistics of [John] Updike's 'Museums and Women,'" and "The Barre,Vermont,Italian Stone Carvers." Rosa's awards include: a Fulbright lectureship to Sassari, Sardinia, Italy, as well as two grants from the National Italian American Foundation for the Italian American Writers Lecture Series 2000 and for an edition of Men Against Granite. Professor Rosa is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Vermont Commons School as well as the founder and president of the New England Press,Inc., a regional publishing company celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2003.
