Biography:Nickerson, a registered dietitian for 30 years, has had a diverse career in nutrition that includes public health, college teaching, in-patient and out-patient nutrition counseling, sports nutrition and food/nutrition education. She specializes in food, nutrition and physical activity as it relates to overall health and well-being across the lifespan, with an emphasis on healthy aging for more than 10 years. She has taught courses on basic nutrition and nutrition/aging; and currently teaches classes in and coordinates a graduate degree program that prepares aspiring nutrition professionals to become registered dietitians.
