BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Kate Haber(Riverwoods, Ill.) was named to the 2005 Jewish Sports Review's Women's All-America College Softball Team.

Haber, who was also named to the America East Second Team and New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association honorable mention selection, posted the highest batting average for a Division I player on the first team that featured 14 student-athletes. She was one of only two players from New England selected and the only choice from the America East. During her sophomore season, the Catamounts starting shortstop and leadoff hitter, Haber led the America East last year with a .391 batting average. Her 52 hits were the second-highest single season total in school history and the sixth-most in the league in 2005. The sophomore finished second on the squad in both runs scored (21) and RBI (21), while leading the team with 20 multi-hit games. A starter since arriving on campus, Haber is tied for fourth all-time at UVM in stolen bases with 22 in her first two seasons. The Catamounts ended their season with 18 victories, which are the most since the 1995 season when Vermont won 19.
