Antonello Borra, associate professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Linguistics, will present his new book of poetry, Alfabestiario, on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Flynndog Gallery, 208 Flynn Ave., Burlington.

The book, composed of poems in their original Italian with English translations, is illustrated by Vermont artist Delia Robinson, who will be exhibiting her work in the gallery through the end of the year.

Alfabestiario, says Borra, “is a collection of poems in which animals, arranged alphabetically, are made to speak in the first person in order to make us humans aware of something we might have forgotten about ourselves and our world.”

Borra will read his works in the Italian while Mark Alan Gordon, lecturer in the Department of Theatre, will offer the translations.
