Panitch Receives M.S. Society Award

Hillel Panitch, M.D., University of Vermont professor of neurology and director of the Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) Center of Northern New England at Fletcher Allen Health Care, received the Partners in Progress Award at the "Dinner of Champions" hosted September 14, 2010 by the Vermont office of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Greater New England Chapter.
University of Vermont College of Medicine faculty members Robert Hamill, M.D., professor and chair of neurology, and Angela Applebee, M.D., assistant professor of neurology, presented Panitch with the award, which recognizes individuals who exemplify the National M.S. Society's vision of creating a world free of M.S.
Panitch's research, which includes leading and/or participating in a wide range of national and international clinical trials, focuses on the diagnosis, pathogenesis and management of multiple sclerosis, as well as experimental therapy for the disease. Widely published in professional medical journals, he has also participated in National M.S. Society activities at the national and local levels for many years, and currently chairs the M.S. Society Clinical Advisory Committee in Vermont.
