Seven Days reports on an exhibit about food that launches September 17 at the Fleming Museum. Students compiled “Eat: The Social Life of Food,” from the Fleming’s collection as part of an Honors College class taught last year by Jennifer Dickinson, associate professor of anthropology, and Margaret Tamulonis, manager of collections and exhibitions at the museum. “We didn’t learn so much about food itself as (about) the practices and social customs surrounding food and how that affects people’s lives,” says junior Cole Burton.
