The conference on "Algae & Energy in the Northeast," co-hosted by UVM, the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund and VT EPSCoR will be held on campus March 17 and 18.
Foremost algae biofuel researchers and entrepreneurs will present on the current state and projected future of algae as a biofuel feedstock. Topics will include the challenges of algae feedstock production in the Northeast, algal harvesting, lipid extraction, biofuel conversion, and uses and markets for algal oil and by-products. A concurrent poster session will feature algae research and development projects.
The two-day conference, which includes lunch on the second day and refreshments throughout, is $85. Students may register for free; however, lunch is not included.
