(OLLI AT UVM PRESENTS) Under Our Lake: The Fascinating Archaeological History of Lake Champlain with Alex Lehning
This course will introduce students to the history and archaeology of Lake Champlain. Through shared readings, lively discussion, and multimedia presentations, we will explore some of the area's most famous shipwrecks and learn about the critical role of the Lake during the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. In addition, we will study the basics of underwater archaeology and view some artifacts from the Lake in person during a field trip to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (a special discounted museum and tour fee of $5 per person will be collected at the museum door). Transportation to the museum is on your own.
