S. Laurel Weldon is Professor of Political Science at Purdue University, where she is Interim Vice-Provost for Faculty Affairs and Director of the Center for Research on Diversity and Inclusion. She is the author of Protest, Policy and the Problem of Violence Against Women: A Cross-National Comparison (2002) and When Protest Makes Policy: How Social Movements Represent Disadvantaged Groups (2011). She is co-editor of The Oxford Handbook on Politics and Gender (2013) and the journal Politics, Groups and Identity. Her work has won many grants and awards, including funding from the National Science Foundation.
