Faculty Lunch Forum: Teaching About the Abenaki: Some Suggestions for Content & Process

Feb 5, 2014
12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Waterman Bldg 527 (Phi Beta Kappa Room)

The Vermont state recognition process required that the tribes petitioning the state completely document their cultural and political history. This new corpus of information has been used by the Haven Project to craft a new vision of the Indigenous Vermont experience, based on solid historical documentation. The issue is not to make it available to the public and the Vermont educational system. Professor Wiseman will share some of the new content and interpretation and discuss possible collaborations wtih UVM in public programming and curriculum development.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Please e-mail ccp@uvm.edu with your name, department and e-mail address.
Registration is first come first serve, lunch will be provided by Waterman Manor.
