The University of Vermont
operates and maintains a centralized
steam and chilled water plant, located in the heart of central campus
in the Royall Tyler Theatre Annex. The Central Plant generates and
distributes steam and chilled water to meet the campus needs for space
heating and air conditioning, hot water generation and scientific
research support. The Plant is operated 24 hours per day 365 days a
year. Physical Plant staff are responsible
for the safe and efficient operation, preventive
maintenance, and repairs to the facility. Outside of regular campus
business hours (during evenings, weekends and holidays) the CHCP staff
also perform all the communications and
dispatch duties of Service Operations Support.
