Since 2001, the Physical Plant Department has hosted an annual “All Hands” meeting for its staff. The concept was started by Department Director, Sal Chiarelli when he first arrived to UVM, as a way to focus the efforts of our very large and diverse department.
The annual meeting is a time for our staff to gather together and learn about projects and accomplishments by the various crews within the department, most of whom do not work together on a regular basis. The program always features presentations by front-line staff who inform others about their work, while practicing their public presentation skills. The meeting ends with an annual departmental group photo, refreshments and a chance for staff to mingle with other crews within the Physical Plant. Guests from other university departments are always welcome to attend.
