Why we do an Annual Maintenance Shutdown

Each spring, Physical Plant mechanics must perform an annual shut down of the Central Heating & Chilled Water Plant and satellite boilers for mandatory inspections and repairs to all equipment and the utility distribution infrastructure. The annual shutdown takes place immediately after Commencement to minimize the disruption to the campus community.

Please watch this short film, created with the help of a student intern, to understand the importance of the Shutdown for our stakeholders and customers on campus.
