Elevators

The UVM Physical Plant is responsible for the operation of over 90 elevators, both passenger and freight, on campus. The elevators are subjected to annual inspections based on state regulations, as well as a preventative maintenance program in the form of monthly inspections by a licensed Vermont elevator mechanic.

In 2004, The University of Vermont adopted the ASME's standards for Elevator inspection. Since then, we have modernized elevators in 17 buildings to meet the requirements, and are in the process of completing the rest.
