  The CPR/Lock Shop is responsible for general upkeep, maintenance and repairs to buildings to enhance research and learning at UVM.


Lock Shop

Performs lock repairs, changes, and installations. File cabinet, and desk lock repairs or lockouts. Battery-operated door alarms. Keeps records of buildings and room keys, as well as keys issued to faculty and staff.

The Carpentry Shop and Office are located in the basement of Davis Hall on the Redstone Campus. 

Carpentry

Building and repairing walls, ceilings, cabinets, stairs, floors, trim, and some furniture. Installing paneling,sheet rock, floors, sound boarding, shower doors, mirrors, insulation, siding, windows, bookshelves, doors and hardware, fences, handicap ramps. Exterior and interior masonry maintenance and repair.

Painting


Priming and painting building interiors and exteriors, removing graffiti, and refinishing furniture. Painting is done on a pre-determined schedule. If a department requests painting done ahead of this schedule,  then a departmental budget must be supplied.

Fire & Life Safety

Inspects and repairs all fire protection and life safety systems and equipment in campus buildings.

Roofing

Installs and performs preventive maintenance and repairs on roofs. As needed, roofers remove snow and ice from roofs, install and maintain gutters and down spouts, paint high surfaces, hang banners on buildings, assemble staging set-ups, and change high lights.

Windows

Repair and upkeep of windows including replacing broken window glass and glazing.

For non-emergency service, submit a Service Request.

To request keys, complete a “Request for Keys/Card Access” form and fax it in to the Physical Plant. The Lock Shop will notify key requesters when keys are ready for pick-up at the 284 East Avenue Building.    Click here to Request  Keys/Card Access
