My name is Meghan Seifert and I would love to run for the position of Chancellor in the Green Mountain Chapter of Alpha Zeta. I am going to be a senior this upcoming year majoring in environmental studies with a concentration in Food, Land and Community. I also participate in the Upward Bound program here at UVM. This program is dedicated to mentoring high school students at both Burlington and Winooski High Schools through their college application process. I have held many leadership positions in the past such as captain of my varsity cross country and track teams for two years.
My interests in the environment and particularly agriculture makes me the perfect candidate for the Presidential position in AZ. With the help from my fellow AZers, I will aim to piece together as many community events as we can to support the greater Burlington area.
I am extremely organized and dedicated to all of the endeavors that I participate in. I will make it my mission to help make everyone’s experience in AZ be as enjoyable as possible. I am really looking forward to getting to know all of the members in the Green Mountain Chapter of Alpha Zeta!

Censor: Janine Provenzano

Hi everyone! My name is Janine Provenzano and I’m a sophomore dual majoring in Ecological Agriculture and Sustainable Landscape Horticulture. Following my undergraduate career at UVM, I would like to enroll in a horticultural graduate program for Viticulture and Oenology and take my career from there. Currently I am a member of the Horticulture Club and one of the program directors of Living and Learning’s Gardening in College program. This past summer I worked for a landscaping company in Massachusetts, and in May I will be doing landscape installation and maintenance in Colorado. The areas of agriculture, horticulture, and the environment are what I’m truly passionate about, and I am running for the position of Censor as an outlet for that passion. If not elected as Censor, I would also like to be considered for Scribe.
My leadership skills come from the position I’m holding as a program director, along with my past experiences of being captain of my former high school’s ice hockey and lacrosse teams. I was also in charge of coordinating a “Night for the Arts” during my sophomore-senior years in high school, where I performed as well. I think that I would make an excellent Alpha Zeta officer because I have previous leadership skills that I am intent on improving and I would love to get to know like-minded individuals who share interests and passions similar to mine. I feel that being active in the University of Vermont campus, along with the surrounding community, is one of the most important and appealing aspects of Alpha Zeta and I would be honored to be one of the officers helping to coordinate the projects that we partake in. If elected this semester, I would still have two more years ahead of me that I could use to improve upon my skills and make me a better officer. My name is Pat, I am from Walpole, Massachusetts. I am majoring in wildlife biology and minoring in Forestry in the Rubenstein School of the Environment and Natural Resources. After graduation I hope to do some traveling out West and explore some career opportunities. I would love to be working outdoors and close with animals. I am interested in education, and have been a day camp counselor at a wildlife sanctuary on Cape Cod for the past two summers. Aside from wildlife, I love running and I also compete in triathlons. I am the president of the triathlon club here, but I am primarily a runner. Fishing, skiing, hiking, reading, and frolicking in the snow with my dog are some other hobbies of mine.

Hello there! I'm currently a senior in CDAE's Community
Entrepreneurship program, with minors in Ecological Agriculture and
Food Systems. Not sure what I'm trying to do with it: There are many
potentially overwhelming problems in the world. Try to fix them. The
dilemma: To work within the system, or to scrap it? (Just kidding,
it's a false dichotomy!) For Spring 2013, I'm hoping to organize a
conference series on a just and sustainable economy, and help divest
our endowment of fossil fuels. (I'm Student Climate Culture's chief
economist.) After that, I'd like to learn about agroforestry and
silvopasture. I'm convinced a human-scale, agriculturally-based
society is the way to fix *many* of our problems.

Chronicler: Ashley Ackert

My name is Ashley Ackert and I am a junior majoring in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary concentration. I was inducted into AZ in the spring of 2011 and I have participated in several organization events since then. I have also been an active member in UVM’s Pre-Vet Club. I am interested in running for either the censor or chronicler position.
In high school I was a class officer (treasurer then vice president) for two years, Spanish club president in my senior year, and played on the varsity volleyball team for three years. These experiences helped me learn how to be a responsible leader as well as how to listen and work well with others. Throughout high school and school breaks, I spent the majority of my time working at a small animal hospital and kennel. This experience allowed me to strengthen my leadership skills and responsibility further. I was in charge of training new kennel staff and taking care of our animal patients.
In the future I hope to attend Vet school to earn my DVM. I would love to have a residency in small animal orthopedics and work with small animals like cats and dogs. I believe that by being either censor or chronicler, I will not only be helping AZ grow as an organization, but also feel a stronger connection and sense of leadership as a member.

My name is Connor Lunt and I am currently completing my sophomore year at UVM. I am an environmental studies major with a minor in political science. I graduated from Millersburg Area High School in Millersburg as the top male graduate and captain of my varsity soccer team. I am thoroughly enjoying my time at UVM and I love the sense of community I feel walking about campus. I am continually looking for ways to get involved at UVM and I will do my best to fulfill my duties as sergeant-at-arms for Alpha Zeta.
