Jared Alvord is a Junior in Environmental Studies in CALS and an active member of The Green Mountain Chapter of Alpha Zeta. |

Recently Jared was selected as the UVM/Sheraton Hotel Student Athlete of the Week (1/19/09). Jared also set a new UVM school record at the URI Heptathalon Qualifier (1/16/09). He was awarded the Jeff Stone Memorial Award at the 2008 Rally Awards for his outstanding academic achievements coupled with his community service and leadership activities. Jared was United Ways' "Volunteer of the Month" in March 2008 for his work with the Essex CHIPS Teen Center. He is President of UVM's Campus Energy Group and also serves on the UVM Student Athlete Advisory Council. |
