UVM Theatre and Dance presents Jesus Christ Superstar
- By Wayne Tetrick
Join UVM Department of Theatre and Dance for the event of the holiday season as they present Jesus Christ Superstar, the iconic rock opera that reinvented musical theatre. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s award-winning musical tells the story of the final week of Jesus’ life from the perspective of Judas Iscariot. Filled with an exciting mix of rock, gospel, folk and funk - this contemporary imagining of the biblical tale has been electrifying audiences for over 40 years.
Presented in a staged concert version Jesus Christ Superstar is co-directed by Department of Theatre and Dance faculty members Gregory Ramos and Craig Wells and features the vocal talents of nineteen UVM students backed by some of Vermont’s best musicians.
