UVM Extension Hosts Teen Science Cafe
- By Lauren Traister
The VTeen 4-H Science Pathways Cafe launched in 2018 and was a huge success! We had over 130 youth participate in at least one of the three cafes we held!! Check out the fantastic Across the Fence show about the teen science cafes.
We plan to offer more teen science cafes next school year and beyond and we are trying to identify potential cafe presenters. The cafes usually take place at the Davis Center on the UVM Campus, but we are open to moving to an another location if it helps showcase your work/research. We are trying to represent a wide range of science, engineering and technology topics so Vermont teens can begin to see the different STEM pathways that exist right here in Vermont.
If you have an idea for a teen science cafe, then could you please provide the following information: Name STEM area, work or research focus Teen science cafes are best when they offer hands-on learning. What hands-on activity could you do to showcase your work/research?
Our first cafe is Saturday, September 22 and is open to all youth in grades 7-12.
