Volunteers Needed for Nicotine Study

18- to 50-year-old healthy smokers are needed to participate in a research study looking at differences in brain functioning while completing cognitive tasks. Eligible volunteers currently smoke more than 5 cigarettes per day, and are somewhat interested in quitting.

This is a four-visit study.  Volunteers will be asked to: 1) complete an in-person screening visit to fill out questionnaires and determine eligibility; 2) complete two 1-hour MRI scanning sessions at the UVM Research Imaging Center at the UVM Medical Center; 3) potentially stop smoking for a few days; and 4) wear biofeedback sensors during the day for one week.

Individuals who are currently pregnant, taking psychotropic medication (e.g., antidepressants, stimulants, sedatives), or using most recreational drugs are ineligible. Compensation is over $390 upon study completion.

If you're interested in participating, please email us at enismoke@uvm.edu or fill out this questionnaire, and we'll get in touch with you soon.
