THE UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT IS COMMITTED TO LEADING BY EXAMPLE.

Together, we can make UVM a leading workplace through our annual United Way campaign, demonstrating our commitment to our community.

The UVM United Way campaign team is working to raise $60,000 by December 31st.  For details, read the campaign kickoff letter to faculty and staff.

Strategic priorities

With the guidance of hundreds of community members, including many UVMers, volunteers have defined five key strategies to guide United Way in its acting, advocating and investing.

They are:

Reducing Substance Misuse

Reducing the prevalence and impacts of substance misuse through prevention, eliminating barriers to treatment, and supporting recovery.

Promoting Mental Health

Through prevention, focusing on wellness and resilience, and ensuring access to mental health treatment, crisis services, and other supports.

Supporting Families

Supporting the development and well-being of families of all ages through building skills, knowledge, supports, and access to resources.

Meeting Basic Needs

From emergency shelter to affordable and alternative housing, ensuring access to healthy food, and providing and reducing barriers to transportation.

Fostering Financial Stability

Advancing financial stability through access to supports, resources, and workplace innovations that help people get and keep stable employment.

Please join us in this year's campaign!

Our goal is for 250 UVM community members to participate in the campaign by the end of December.

Why support the United Way?

The United Way of Northwest Vermont shares our vision for a resilient community. Every $1 raised turns into more than $3 invested back into our communities through volunteers, nonprofits and businesses working together with United Way to meet community-defined priorities and to scale up solutions that already prove to work.
