Panel II: Race and the Classroom: What Fisher v. Texas Means for Us
The U.S. Supreme Court is currently considering the constitutionality of the University of Texas’ race-conscious admissions practices. With the court pressing hard on affirmative action’s constitutionality, this case offers us an opportunity to tackle questions raised by current legal standards related to educational diversity, not only for admissions offices but for classroom educators. What specific objectives does diversity serve, and how do our teaching practices move us towards those goals?
