Free Speech and Hate Speech: Can They Coexist?

The current politically turbulent climate has prompted both actions and speech that are viewed by some as provoking or offensive. In any learning or working environment, walking the line between encouraging speech and thought, and creating an inclusive and welcoming community, can be challenging. This session will explore the parameters of free speech, and how it intersects, and sometimes conflicts, with our goal of building a diverse and inclusive climate.

Speakers: President Tom Sullivan, J.D., Traci Griffith, J.D., Dr. Meaghan Emery , Dr. Annie Stevens and Jes Kraus, J.D.

Host: Dr. Wanda Heading-Grant
