The Changing 'Landscape' of Gender Identity for Faculty, Students, and Staff

In May 2016 the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education issued a joint memo of understanding about the supports educational organizations should be providing to transgender students. Dot Brauer will begin this session with a brief introduction and timeline of UVM's efforts on behalf of trans students. Dot will be joined by a panel made up of students, staff, and faculty, members who represent a variety of professional and personal backgrounds at UVM. Panelists will share how they experience trans-related policies and practices at UVM, in and out of the classroom. This session will include ample time for participants' questions, and group discussion about UVM's efforts on behalf of trans affiliates in the past, present, and future.

Discussant Leader: Dr. Dot Brauer
