The Trump Presidency on Campus: Religion, Gender, and Law

With its dramatic rhetoric, intense partisanship, overt anti-intellectualism, and pending legal changes, the Trump era poses serious challenges for college campuses. This roundtable discussion includes professors teaching courses in Islam, gender and law, and American politics, together with a representative of UVM’s Office of University Relations. Discussion will address topics such as managing the classroom climate, whether it is necessary pedagogically to be perceived as politically “neutral,” and potential legal and political issues facing the University.

Panelists: Dr. Lisa Holmes, Wendy Koenig, J.D. and Dr. Ilyse Morgenstein Fuerst

Host: Dr. Alec Ewald
