Our Beginnings...
The idea for TIC was born from Free 2 Be,
the University of Vermont's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Ally (GLBTQA) organization,
a Student Government Association recognized club entirely run by UVM students!
In the fall of 2002, Free 2 Be members decided they wanted to put on a conference devoted to trans issues,
in hopes they might make a difference by educating the surrounding community.
In April of 2003, TIC came into fruition. There has been a conference every year since.
TIC was held in February of 2004, March of 2005, February of 2006, 2007, and November of 2008.
At the 2005 conference the students set a record at the University of Vermont by putting on the largest student run conference
ever at the University.
Every year a new committee comes together that is equally devoted and hard working.
