"Smart is Sexy" celebrates the inner beauty and confidence that comes with the pursuit of knowledge. We feel that there's nothing more beautiful than recognizing your potential. We define a student as anyone who takes learning into their own hands. The idea of intelligence as being sexy came from three college students who wanted to spread the word that being smart is something to be proud of.
We see the role of Smart is Sexy in two parts. The first is to inform the community of their many chances to get involved with everything that UVM has to offer. Whether it is a traditional class, a travel opportunity or something completely new and different, we will get the word out. We want to put the information in the hands of people that can use it. Our second role is to praise everything that we already see going on. The University of Vermont is vibrant and full of the energy that makes us proud of UVM. We feel it's important to remind each other of the many incredible things we do every day.
So, we congratulate you for taking the step towards education. Whether it's to catch up, get ahead or do your own things, we feel it's time to praise you.
