Plant & Soil Sciences – UVM On-Farm Summer Institute
Take advantage of Vermont’s short but amazingly productive growing season. On-Farm Summer Institute students and instructors get their hands dirty exploring practical techniques for raising fruit, vegetables, grains, pasture and fuel crops in consort with all of the other communities in the ecosystem – from weeds to microbes.

The 14th Annual International Agroecology Shortcourse
(ENVS 212/61007, PSS 212/60819)
During this intensive program on Agroecological Approaches to Climate Change and Food Systems Resilience students will learn from a team of international instructors and professionals and between July 8-19 will work and research on Vermont farms.

Special Topics in Food offered this Summer
Earn up to 15 credits through in-depth study of the food system with consecutively scheduled short-course intensives offered throughout the summer.

Minor in Ecological Agriculture (earned by taking courses over 2 summers)
This minor is designed to give students a knowledge-based concentration in diversified crop production based on ecological principles and is economically viable, socially acceptable, and minimizes impacts to the environment.
