SAT Preparation at UVM

The SAT Test Prep course offers comprehensive preparation for the SAT. This summer course is an intensive test prep class that provides students with the tools they need to prepare for the SAT. The extended format of the SAT prep course leads to greater opportunities for learning and interaction with our expert instructors. Students are provided with an in-depth review of the exam materials, insight into strategies for succeeding on standardized tests, a comprehensive study plan, and all the material one needs to prepare for the SAT.

The SAT Test Prep course this summer at UVM includes:

20 hours of expert classroom instruction
4 hours of live online review leading up to the fall exam dates

Online review sessions help students perform at their peak!

The University of Vermont SAT Test Prep course includes 4 online review sessions in the weeks leading up to the fall SAT exam dates. These interactive one-hour online review sessions allow students to participate and ask questions of our expert test prep instructors. The live online review sessions are also recorded – students can still benefit even if their schedule doesn’t allow live participation. Students need only have high-speed access to the Internet, speakers, and Adobe Flash Player to participate in the online sessions. No additional software is required.

Online Review System Requirements: The Live-Online SAT Review sessions are offered online using Adobe Connect software. All you need is a high-speed Internet connection, speakers, and an Adobe Flash Player, which can be downloaded for free.

About Our Program

The University of Vermont’s Test Prep program is a partner with Educational Testing Consultants, a leader in higher education test preparation. Each year, Educational Testing Consultants helps hundreds of students prepare for the important pre-college standardized tests at major colleges and universities across the United States. Educational Testing Consultants provides a proven program and highly-trained top quality instructors.

Instructors

Aaron McGee is an experienced educator with a background in high school education, test preparation, and continuing education. He is a high school science teacher at Laraway Youth and Family Services who enjoys helping students reach new levels of academic success. In addition to teaching science and history at the high school level, Aaron has worked with students in non-traditional learning environments and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer. Aaron graduated with honors with a B.A. in History from Northland College and earned an M.A. in Education from Johnson State College. When he isn’t teaching, Aaron is a ski and snowboard instructor and an active community volunteer.

Jesse Dunklee enjoys preparing students for standardized tests with his contextualized and pragmatic teaching style. In addition to his academic background in the humanities and military leadership experience, Jesse has maintained a strong quantitative base through coursework in calculus, computer science, and strategic planning. Jesse is a First Lieutenant in the Army National Guard and a graduate student pursuing his M.A. in Theological Studies from Andover Newton Theological School. He earned his B.A. in Comparative Religion from Tufts University. In addition to teaching test preparation courses, Jesse is a certified instructor for personal and family wellness programs. In his free time, Jesse raises funds for charity as a competitive runner.
