About EDFS 380 Z1

The course seeks to engage students in critical discussions about the nexus between race, culture, instruction, and academic achievement. Course participants will develop and strengthen their culturally responsive instructional competences that are considered necessary for educators in the 21st century. This course is generally intended for graduate students of different education concentrations such as those pursuing the Master of Arts (M.A.T) in teaching degree, the master's degree in educational leadership, or curriculum and instruction as well as doctoral students who need an elective for their concentration. Undergraduate education majors with a minimum junior, and in good academic standing may also take this course as an elective. In-service instructional practitioners as well as other adult learners from the community seeking graduate credit in education may take the course as well to gain knowledge about teaching and learning in multi-racial/multicultural public school settings.
