Section Description

Psychology 109 explores the basic principles of research methodology including research design and reporting. The course is intended to equip students with the competencies required to understand and evaluate psychological research in a variety of areas of psychology. The goals of the course are to establish student competence in: 1. the ability to critically evaluate and interpret primary literature in the science of psychology. 2. the ability to identify a research problem, generate hypotheses, design studies to evaluate the hypotheses, evaluate study outcomes, and prepare an APA style research report. 3. the ability to communicate psychological material effectively both orally and in writing using professional standards and format of psychology (APA format).
