Taking a college course at UVM gives high school students the opportunity to experience college and earn college credits through the Academically Talented Program. Through the Academically Talented Program, high schools students complete an application form which requests Guidance Counselor confirmation that the student can successfully engage in college-level courses.
The July Program offers a number of entry-level college courses and ranges in price depending on student residency (in-state or out-of-state), living and eating on-campus, and need for parking. Here are pricing examples for a high school student who enrolls in the July Program from 7/1-7/28/12:
Out of State High School Student – July Program Price Example:
1 course = $678 per credit x 3 credits + $30 comp fee = $2064
Housing = $24.00 double room per person per night x 27 nights = $648.00 (Linens are additional)
Dining = $175 per week x 4 weeks = $700 for 21 meals per week plus retail points
Parking = $14 per week x 4 weeks = $56 for parking
Approximate total = $3,468*

In-State High School Student – Dual Enrollment – July Program Price Example:
1 course = $0 per credit x 3 credits + $30 comp fee = $30
Housing = $24.00 double room per person per night x 27 nights = $648.00 (Linens are additional)

Parking = $14 per week x 4 weeks = $56 for parking
